Re Calvin - I don't think he meant 2+2=5. He meant the Bible is simple to understand for honest hearted ones so don't try and lock up the meaning with unnecessary complexity.

How do we know? It is a question of working the info through our minds and deciding for ourselves whether the proof stacks up.
Why do people stay with Watchtower when it is so obviously false? Many reasons.
On ex-witness I know saw a lot of what went on behind the scenes in the back room. This one wouldn't even treat a dog the way some bro and sis were being treated. The cruelty of the organization was obvious and that was why that person left.
Me I left because I could see that the Bible opposed the very basis of WT authority. I had been lied to in my Bible study.
But some people aren't really fussed about cruelty and integrity. Or they don't see the significance of it at the moment. Others don't persist in trying to understand the Bible. They feel it's duff and get on with their lives. Their choice.
My bottom line, ok you think I'm wrong. Tell you what, I'll be wrong with Jesus. He strikes me as being an extremely nice person.

But if He does exist, Jesus' words hold great value.

Leviathan is described as being in the 'yam' not the 'mayim'.
Also you say

The Bible explains that the earth was formless (tou) and waste (bou - pronounced bo-hoo) UNTIL God created.
Smiddy - I care about animals a lot. God cares for them a lot more than you or I do. But God is not Beatrix Potter, he created rabbits, not Peter Rabbit.

But the earth was formless and waste not the sea.
The watery deep had darkness on it. And the watery deep was not the seas. They came about after the waters under the heavens were brought together in one place.

JoenB75 - Creation before beginning? You say there seems to be some aftermath upon chaosbattle going on. I've never come across chaosbattle in the Bible. But you say this was before the beginning of Creation. Who told you this? How do they know? Where did they get their information from?
And how could they see with their eyes that God's spirit was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters? And how did they know that God spoke and things were created? But when it came to man he formed him out of the dust of the earth? Then he blew life into him. Why didn't He just say "let man come to be".

Adam lived for 130 years then he became father to Seth. After fathering Seth Adam lived on for 800 years.
800 + 130 = 930. Not 913.
Compare Gen 5:3
And Seth only lived for 912 years.
Arpachshad only lived for 438.
The ages continued to diminish (Gen 6:3) until you get to 70/80 years of age as a general rule but some can live longer - which is what we have today. (Psalm 90:10)

Yes the Bible does start with the words "In the beginning" the next bit of that sentence tells you what happened in the beginning.
